Disappointing end to weekend

After finding an issue with the XYGT after Race 1 the team was confident that Race 2 would provide a great result. Fishtail once again slightly missed the jump of the rolling start although he held strong down into Turn 1 and managed to only let one other car through.

After this he put his head down and was able to pick up a couple of spots although he ran wide at the exit of Lukey Heights allowing Bowe to sneak past.

On lap 3 he was all over the back of another driver who was much slower and holding Fishtail up by blocking into the heavy braking corners. Fishtail got a run on him up over Lukey Heights and went for the over taking move down into MG however the other driver came across and blocked resulting in contact between the two cars.

Fishtail gathered himself back up and got a great run onto the straight with the other driver blocking again into turn 1, Fisher kept the momentum coming out of turn 2 looking for a run down to the Stoner sweeper however he mis-shifted and found the wrong gear resulting in a disintegrated clutch and putting a hole in the sump and a shattered bell housing……enough said, that ended the teams great run over the weekend.

Disappointed with what happened the team will move on knowing that they were much closer to running with the front runners of the championship with the highlight being 4th in qualifying with a somewhat ill-handling car.

We look forward to the final round of the V8 Ute series at the Homebush street circuit on the first weekend in December.
