“Healing” for Jesus Racing’s XY GTHO

Having missed the last Touring Car Masters round due to not having an engine, the iconic Jesus Racing XY GTHO is ready for a return to the track this weekend at the iconic track of Bathurst.

After engine failure at the Ipswich round of the Championship back in August, the Jesus Racing team has been busy sourcing and then installing a new dry sump engine into their current XY GTHO. This will bring the team closer to the rest of the field as the previous engine they used was the outdated wet sump style engine that nobody else in the series uses.

With missing the teams local round at Sydney Motor Sport Park, Andrew “Fishtail” Fisher is excited for the first outing to be at the Mt Panorama circuit. “It was a shame to miss our home round, but you couldn’t ask for a better race to debut the new engine at,” said Fishtail. “We’ve changed engines and also done a lot of work in lightening the weight of the car. The team has done a great job to get this all finished and we are looking forward to getting out there!”

The team’s first day back will be a busy one on Thursday with Practice 1, practice 2 and qualifying, all being run. They will then have one race on each of the following days. You can catch all the action live on Fox Sports 5, with Saturday and Sundays racing also being shown on Channel 10.
