Jesus Racing Ends Year on a High
The Jesus Racing team have ended their first season of running the entire racing operation on a high with 3 top 10 finishes at the Sydney 500 event in Homebush.
After struggling early in the weekend for car pace, the team made some changes throughout the racing that moved Fishtail into a starting position of 9th for the final race.
For the first time on the weekend Fishtail didn’t gain any spots off the line but was able to maintain his position of 9th through turn 1. However, with an incident happening towards the back of the field off the starting line, a safety car was called. After 3 laps under the safety car, racing got back underway and Fishtail managed to stay on the lead group for the remainder of the race. After fending off a late challenge from championship contender, Marjoram, Fishtail would ultimately finish the race in 9th position, claiming the Masters Award for the round.
“It was a fun race out there and great way to finish off the year for the team,” said Fisher. “The team done a great job over the weekend to improve the car but we think there is still an underlying issue that we cant see from the crash on the Gold Coast.
We have learnt a lot this year and will give the car a full rebuild over the off-season in preparation for the 2016 season where we are confident of more great results.”
This result capped off a mixed year for the team which saw the Jesus Ute involved in a number of incidents but also being able to win a race, finish equal 1st for a round, win 3 masters awards, and win 1 rookie award.
