Jesus Racing Ready for Tour of Tassie

The Jesus Racing team has overcome a chaotic start to the 2015 season and part of the team have arrived in Melbourne a week before Round 2 of the Touring Car Masters Series in order to fit the rebuilt engine that was found to have a crack in the block at Round 1.

Things haven’t been easy for the team after having to miss the final race of the opening round due to an oil pickup problem and then subsequently finding a crack in the block of their 351-powerplant. Since then, Steve Makarios has been working overtime and on Friday he was able to finish rebuilding the entire engine and fired it up on the dyno for the first time.

Jesus Racing founder and driver, Andrew “Fishtail” Fisher is thankful that everything is starting to come together and the team’s prayers have been answered, “We have worked really hard to pull it together and there has been a fair amount of praying as well over these past few weeks. The engine is now finished and although it has been a significant financial blow to the team it’s very exciting to know we will be on the grid with our iconic XY GT for Round 2!”

“We can now focus on our 2 week tour which we are very excited about”

Over the next two weeks Andrew will visit more than 5 high schools, a detention centre, a Gaol and will also have a men’s event on in Hobart before heading back home,” said Fisher.

Of course he will also pilot the Jesus XYGT at Round 2 of the TCM championship which will be held at the Symmons Plains circuit on March 27-29.
