Positive End to Season Finale
Jesus Racing continued their year of learning right up to the last race as Andrew Fisher made his way from 19th on the grid to the top 8 after just 6 laps before an oil leakage forced him to pull over for one last time.
With yesterday’s problems fixed, Fisher made a great start and began making his way through the field gaining 12 spots with the team’s iconic XY GTHO handling a lot better.
Unfortunately, that’s where it all ended for Jesus Racing’s season with the oil pressure increasing substantially and causing oil to leak onto the exhaust, creating a smoke screen behind the Jesus Falcon. Fisher had no choice but to pull over ending the season earlier then expected.
Looking at the positives of the teams season Fisher said, “It’s not the way we wanted to end the year but there are a lot of positives to take out of this weekend and season in general. We improved the car significantly from yesterday and it was very fast enabling us to gain over 10 spots before the problem! The boys have found the problem already and we will work on rectifying this ahead of next season.”
The team will now focus their attention on building a new XY GTHO from the ground up in preparation for their assault on the 2016 Touring Car Masters Championship. The next event will be in the V8 Ute to finish off another season of racing for the Jesus Racing Team.
