Solid Start for Jesus Racing

Jesus Racing has started their final V8 Ute round for 2015 with a solid 12th position in qualifying after having to rebuild their Ford V8 Ute after the big accident damage sustained on the Gold Coast.

Coming into the event, Andrew “Fishtail” Fisher and the team were looking forward to getting on to the Homebush Street Circuit and after a fast shake down at Eastern Creek were confident of a good weekend.

With only one practice session Fishtail was out hard and fast clocking the 12th fastest time. On reviewing of the data it showed that the Jesus V8 Falcon could be pushed way deeper into turn 2, so with new tyres on for qualifying Andrew pushed deeper and deeper the braking zone and the lap times tumbled.

Fishtail was joined on Track by Aaron Borg who subbed in for Seiders Racing in P1. It was Borgs first time on the challenging street circuit and he did a fantastic job to bring the car home in one piece setting the 16th fastest time just 7 tenths off Fishtails time and one place behind Adam Majorum who is currently 3rd in the V8 Ute Championship.

“It’s very tight at the top, not much in it, we used up the new tyres finding the brake marker, so we would have been further up the grid, but the car is fast for race 1” remarked Fishtail. The Jesus ute finished out the session in P12 just 8 tenths off of pole.

Tomorrow will see the V8 Utes hit the track for Race 1 and 2 followed by Race 3 on Sunday. You can catch all the action live on Fox Sports with Race 2 and 3 being shown on channel 10. All results will be shown on the Jesus Racing Team facebook page too.
